MAGPIE CTF 2025

Placed 14th of 73 teams by points

After doing so well in HTCOTB 2025, we were invited to compete in MagpieCTF alongside some of the more senior members of the CHADS club! Magpie is an annual Canada wide competition hosted by the CyberSec club at the University of Calgary. The problems here were way more intensive, which was really cool to see! We didnt do quite well enough to dip into the prize pool, but Im really proud of our performance nonetheless!

HTCOTB CTF 2025

🏆 Placed 1st of 70 teams by points

A couple of friends and I decided to try out HTCOTB (Hack the Computer, Open the Box), a hacking competition hosted by CHADS, the UofAs cybersecurity club! Other than a primer on the basics of cryptography, web, and reverse engineering, we essentially went in blind, but to our surprise we managed to solve all but one flag! While we placed second by the competitions format, we secured first place by points, a huge achievement for our first major event!

ESA x IPE Case Comp

Non-finalist

My Code Ninjas coworkers and I competed in a economics case competition hosted by the Economics Student Association and the Institude for Public Economics! The focus was on improving job opportunities for disadvantaged groups, and we decided to target application tracking systems (ATS), proposing a compulsory certification that ensures they arent feeding bias prone data to automated ranking systems, hopefully reducing machine discrimination!
